Introduction

A new meta-analysis study published in the Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics has revealed ground-breaking findings – acupuncture can significantly increase the success rates of in vitro fertilisation (IVF).

Researchers analysed data from 25 high-quality randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and found that acupuncture can increase IVF live birth rates (LBR) by a remarkable 33.8%! This is particularly encouraging, as there are very few if any, IVF adjunctive treatments that have similar proven success rates.

As a fertility acupuncturist with 20 years of experience, these findings validate what I have witnessed first-hand. These findings not only validate the experiences of fertility acupuncturists like me but also offer hope to individuals seeking safe and natural ways to enhance their chances of conceiving through IVF.

IVF Acupuncture Research Study in Detail

The meta-analysis study included data from 25 high-quality RCTs involving 4,757 participants, making it one of the most thorough research studies on acupuncture and IVF. They found that patients who received acupuncture during their IVF treatments had a live birth rate of 38.0%, a significant improvement compared to the 28.7% rate for those who did not receive acupuncture.

Moreover, the clinical pregnancy rates were also higher in the acupuncture group, with 43.6% compared to 33.2% in the non-acupuncture group. Overall, the analysis demonstrated that acupuncture could boost IVF live birth rates by an astonishing 33.8%.

These findings not only provide hope for couples undergoing IVF but also offer scientific validation for the efficacy of acupuncture.

The results of this meta-analysis study are not surprising to experienced fertility acupuncturists. Over the course of my 20 years in this field, I have witnessed the profound impact of acupuncture on IVF outcomes. It is gratifying to see that these experiences are now supported by rigorous scientific research.

What makes acupuncture even more appealing is its safety and cost-effectiveness profile. In an era where IVF patients and IVF clinics are increasingly seeking safe and effective ways to boost IVF success rates, acupuncture stands out as a safe, natural and effective IVF adjunctive therapy.
